Day of Action
Groups across the country went out to tackle problems in their own area. Thank you to everyone who took part.
See the groupsTired of walking past the same overflowing bin?
The same tagged shutter?
The same road sign that is barely readable?
Well, Clean Up Britain and Looking For Growth teamed up to coordinate local groups in a nationwide clean-up. On the 11th October, groups across the country went out to tackle problems in their own area.
Every group chose what to take on.
No one loves a neighbourhood like the people who live there, and nobody knows it better. So they decided what needed doing, and got it done.

FixASB is a free public platform for reporting and sharing persistent anti-social behaviour in public and shared spaces.
FixASB was proud to support Looking for Growth and Clean Up Britain’s National Day of Action, with a real-time map of clean-ups in action — demonstrating that we can make Britain:
Safer. Cleaner. More prosperous.
Report fly-tipping & anti-social behaviour Quickly, for free, with FixASBThe targets
Litter pick
The canal towpath, the verge by the retail park, the park after a sunny weekend.
Graffiti
The tagged shutter on the high street, the railway bridge nobody has touched in years.
Road signs
Scrubbed clean and cleared of undergrowth so you can actually read them again.
Fly-tipping
The pile in the lay-by that had been reported four times and was STILL THERE.
A litter pick along the canal. Graffiti off the railway bridge. Road signs scrubbed and cleared of undergrowth. The fly-tip in the lay-by that had been reported four times and was still there. If it bothered people, it was a target.
You did the doing. We did the rest.
We coordinated the groups
People told us where they were and what they wanted to take on. We handled the joining up.
We put every event on the map
Every clean-up on one national map, so neighbours could find each other and turn up.
We got the day noticed
Press, film and social. When communities across the country fixed Britain in a day, everyone heard about it.
One day. Communities everywhere. A country that looks after itself.
